Could diet dog food be on the menu?

Owners of overweight pets could be reconsidering which dog food to feed their animal.
The owners of overweight pets have been invited by the PDSA to reconsider their dog food choice and join in the Pet Fit Club campaign. In addition to providing motivation for getting pets back in shape, the animal welfare charity is offering a competition to find the pet that best follows the diet and exercise regime.
As well as providing a good incentive for owners to see that their furry friend follows their diet plan, there is a prize on offer of a pet-friendly holiday worth £300 on offer courtesy of Cottages4you.
Data from the charity shows that around 35 per cent of all canines in the UK are currently overweight due to eating too much dog food and not getting enough exercise.
But following the PDSA diet plan might be a better idea than the one tried by a Labrador named Ellie, which recently won an award for odd pet insurance claims after she tried to eat a beehive.
