Disfigured mutt will soon be eating dog food in the UK

A poorly pooch will soon be able to eat decent dog food meals without the sound of bombs exploding all around him.
A pooch who was rescued from a warzone will soon be able to enjoy his dog food meals in a more peaceful setting in the UK.Dave the dog was discovered by Royal Marine Alex Mutch during a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Both of the mutt's ears had been cut off and he was in poor health - but the kind-hearted serviceman made it his mission to give him a better life.
After drumming up support from animal lovers around the world, almost £8,000 has been raised to pay for the cute canine to be brought to the UK.
He will live with Mr Mutch's mother in the relatively peaceful surroundings of Walthamstow.
Speaking to the Waltham Forest Guardian after returning to his London home, Mr Mutch thanked his generous supporters.
"I never expected it. It's good because otherwise Dave would probably get shot but now he's going to have a better life," he remarked.
Last year, Corporal Hayley Tomkinson raised £3,500 to bring a dog back from Afghanistan.
She feared her pooch pal would be forced into dog fighting by locals, reports the Sentinel.
