Cat lover breaks arm trying to feed kitten

A cat lover has described how she got her arm trapped in a letter box after attempting to feed a kitten.

One woman got more than she bargained for when attempting to feed a neighbour's kitten.

Gina Harrison told the Worcester News how her arm got stuck in a letter box as she was sprinkling cat food onto the floor.

The 63-year-old had been concerned that the feline was hungry after hearing it meow and tried to put biscuits through the door.

However, firefighters had to be called out after the letter box snapped shut on her wrist, causing the cat lover to sustain a fracture.

Ms Harrison said: "The people who have got the cat are fantastic people but I heard this pitiful cry.

"When I tried to turn my wrist I felt the letter box snap. It was very painful."

Her arm was finally released after the firemen managed to remove the device from the door and loosen Ms Harrison's wrist using butter and washing up liquid.

Elsewhere, cat lovers Vanessa Duggan and Thomas Wood recently told the Halifax Courier how they have asked their wedding guests to donate to a cat rescue centre rather than purchase gifts.
