Dog do DNA tests

Dogs are having DNA tests in order to snare dog poo offenders.
The DNA database is being set up in Jerusalem to trace the droppings back to the dog and negligent owner.
Officials from the municipality said they would be collecting saliva samples from dogs to imput them into a citywide database.
An official said: "The municipality pilot project calls for establishment of a database of dog DNA to allow us to reduce the soiling of pavements, parks and public spaces."
Council chiefs are aiming to get saliva samples from around 80% of Jerusalem's 11,000 dogs.
Owners will face a fine equivalent to around £124.
