Christmas for Dogs

Dr Noys CottontailWhen the winter holidays come around, most of us want to spend them with our families. And those families frequently include our beloved dogs. Whether you have a Chihuahua, a Beagle, or even a Great Dane, you want to make every Christmas special for your canine companion who has brought so much happiness to your life.

See below for ideas that can help you give your dog a great Christmas.

Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Dog

40 Winks square sleepers / dog bedDogs love presents as much as any human so it wouldn’t seem right for Santa Claus not to leave a few special gifts under the tree just for him or her. For example, if your dog has been especially good this year, he or she might love a 40 winks dog bed. This selection is luxury at its best with products fur lined leather sleeping bags to a contemporary chaise longue where he or she can curl up and dream of the wind rushing through their furry ears.

Pet London Ski JacketOf course, winter months are always extra cold so your beloved canine may appreciate some gifts that help him or her stay warm as well as fashionable. Pullovers, Dog Sweaters, ski jackets, hoodies, and even shirts with adorable sayings would be wonderful additions to your dog’s existing wardrobe. And if he or she already has so many clothes you’ve run out of room to keep them tidy then you may want to put a big red bow on Pet London’s Wardrobe designed for pet clothing. The wardrobe even comes with six hangers for dog attire and a drawer for accessories.

Kong Dog ProductsDogs who are strong chewers or who get bored easily would probably appreciate any of the Kong Dog Toys. You can place a treat in the toys which will inspire your dog to keep playing in order to reach that tasty treat.

Dog Safety tips for the Christmas Season

Although Christmas is one of the greatest holidays to spend with our pets, we also have to worry about a few seasonal safety hazards:

  1. One of the biggest is accidental poisoning. Poinsettias, mistletoe, and holly are all dangers to dogs if eaten.
  2. Make sure the chocolate treats in your children’s stockings don’t end up in your puppy’s stomach. The chocolate made for humans can be fatal to dogs.
  3. Avoid using tinsel on the tree because the shiny strands can end up lodged in your pet’s intestines.
  4. If your dog is going to be outdoors in the cold for any length of time, make sure he or she has appropriate shelter from the elements.

Just remember a safe Christmas is a happy Christmas.
